Telangana Govt Committed to Welfare of Poor: Seethakka
Seethakka said the government is constructing 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses across the state in three phases for every eligible poor family, with an allocation of ₹22,500 crore. The scheme aims to fulfil the dream of home ownership for the poor
WARANGAL: Panchayat raj minister Seethakka described the Indiramma Housing Scheme as a symbol of livelihood and a reflection of the government’s commitment to the welfare of the poor, reaffirming that the People’s Government is working to make their dreams a reality.
Accompanied by district library chairman B. Ravi Chandder and Market Committee Chairperson Rega Kalyani, the Minister inaugurated the Indiramma House of beneficiary Bayya Pramila in the BC Colony of Venkatapur mandal, Mulugu district, on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Seethakka said the government is constructing 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses across the state in three phases for every eligible poor family, with an allocation of ₹22,500 crore. The scheme aims to fulfil the dream of home ownership for the poor.
She highlighted several welfare measures implemented by the state government, contrasting them with the previous BRS administration’s policies. The government, she said, is offering a ₹500 bonus per quintal for fine rice to support farmers.
Additionally, the government waived farm loans up to ₹2 lakh within nine months at a cost of ₹21,000 crore. It also issued seven lakh new ration cards and added new members to 17 lakh existing cards, she noted.
Seethakka asserted that both development and welfare are progressing simultaneously in Telangana. She criticised the previous BRS government for neglecting welfare initiatives and Indiramma housing construction, adding that the People’s Government stands with farmers and labourers, and that Indiramma Houses represent dignified living for the poor.
