Yousufguda: TSSP Head Constable Booked for Assaulting Wife

A Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) head constable has been booked for allegedly assaulting, harassing and threatening his wife after she asked him to stop consuming alcohol.

According to the complaint, the accused, Jalandhar Goud, allegedly returned home in an intoxicated state two days ago and punched his wife, Himayati, on her nose after she asked him to stop drinking. The incident took place at their quarters in the First Battalion premises at Yousufguda, Jubilee Hills police said.

Himayati told the police that she sustained bleeding injuries to her nose following the assault. She also alleged that Jalandhar threatened her with dire consequences when she tried to stop him from abusing their children late at night.

The couple got married in 2020. According to Himayati, Jalandhar had allegedly been harassing her and their children. She approached the police in 2023 over three such incidents but later withdrew her complaints, citing the welfare of her children and her husband's job.

Based on her complaint, Jubilee Hills police registered a case against Jalandhar Goud for allegedly causing hurt, harassment and criminal intimidation. The case is under investigation, a police officer said on Wednesday.
