Union Cabinet Will Shortly Give Nod For Northern Part Of RRR, Says Gadkari

The projects are aimed at improving connectivity across the state

Hyderabad:Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that the Union Cabinet will soon approve the 162-km long northern part of the Regional Ring Road.

Addressing a public meeting at Amberpet after laying foundation stones for 15 National Highway projects, Gadkari assured on behalf of the Narendra Modi government to provide full assistance to providing connectivity to the city from all the corners of the country.

He said that the Central government had spent `1.25 lakh crore for improving national highways, flyovers, green field corridors in Telangana and people from any corner of the state can reach Hyderabad within five hours after the completion of all the highway projects.

The Nagpur-Hyderabad six-lane expressway, a high-speed greenfield corridor, would be taken up by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

He also announced that the design of Rs 1,200 crore iconic double-decker hybrid bridge across Krishna river connecting Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is ready, which is designed to blend beautifully with the natural landscape, with special sound and lighting effects and architectural features.

Union coal and mines minister appealed to the state government to complete the land acquisition at six locations of Amberpet flyover to complete the service roads. State ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar have assured to complete the land acquisition.

Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy urged Gadkari to help the state government for completion of the southern part of RRR and signal-free roads in Hyderabad.
