Telangana Formation Day Celebrated With Grandeur Across The State

During the Formation Day celebrations at the Lok Bhavan, Mule Vaishnavi, a differently-abled artist, presented a portrait of the Governor which she painted using only her toes.

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Tuesday said the state formation became possible due to decades of democratic struggle and the 'martyrs' who sacrificed their life for the cause.Shukla unveiled the National Flag at Lok Bhavan on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy participated in the celebrations organised by the state government at Parade Ground here, while the day was also celebrated across the state and in the offices of ruling Congress and opposition BJP, BRS and others here.
Speaking at the Lok Bhavan, Shukla called on the citizens to remember the "visionaries, leaders, and countless contributors who laid the foundation for modern Telangana".
He said he is proud of the rich cultural heritage and agricultural legacy of Telangana which is globally recognized for excellence in IT, Pharma, and Startups.
"Janani Janmabhoomishcha Swargadapi Gariyasi" - The motherland is greater than heaven. Let us work together towards a stronger, prosperous, and progressive Telangana that continues to contribute significantly to India's growth and development," he said.
During the Formation Day celebrations at the Lok Bhavan, Mule Vaishnavi, a differently-abled artist, presented a portrait of the Governor which she painted using only her toes. Vaishnavi works as a Junior Assistant with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). As Vaishnavi presented the portrait she had painted with her feet, the gathering at Lok Bhavan witnessed a deeply moving moment.

Governor Shukla and his wife Janaki Shukla were visibly touched by the gesture and the extraordinary effort behind it, it said.
Former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan also wished people of the state on the occasion. In a video message, she said people of the state always remain close to their heart and wished them good health and happiness.
Meanwhile, state ministers led the celebrations in the districts.
State Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud hoisted the National Flag at the party's state headquarters here.
State BJP vice president and former MP Boora Narsaiah Goud unveiled the National Flag at the party's office. Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and several other leaders attended the event.
BRS Working President K T Rama Rao, who unfurled the National Flag, attacked the ruling Congress, alleging that the party came to power by spreading false information about the previous BRS government and then Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Telangana came into existence on June 2, 2014 following the bifurcation of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
