Telangana: CP Urges Teachers To Educate Students On Cyber Safety

Addressing a cyber awareness programme organised by the Central Zone Police under the 'Suraksha Ka Tiranga' campaign at Kaloji Kala Kshetram in Balasamudram, she said cyber frauds were increasing despite growing public awareness.

The Commissioner said cyber criminals often exploit people's greed, fear and sense of urgency to deceive them. She urged the public to remain vigilant while using mobile phones and digital platforms.

She advised people not to click on suspicious links, messages or photographs received from unknown persons and asked mobile users to strengthen their privacy settings.

Swetha urged teachers to educate students about the distinction between private and public life and the dangers of sharing personal information and photographs on social media.

She also cautioned people to exercise care while shopping online and making digital payments, warning that even a brief lapse could result in substantial financial loss.

Earlier, Cyber Crime officials explained the latest methods adopted by cyber fraudsters and the precautions needed to prevent online scams. Members of the Police Jagruthi cultural team also created awareness through cultural performances.

Later, the commissioner administered a cyber safety pledge to teachers and released awareness posters.

Central Zone DCP Dara Kavitha, education department CMO Suma, ACPs Narsimha Rao, Venkata Ramana and John Narasimhulu, Inspectors Rajith, Shiv Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Ashok and Praveen Kumar, along with other police officials, attended the programme.
