Hyderabad:Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao dismissed BRS leader K Chandrashekar Rao's allegations against the BJP and Centre over Krishna waters and Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) as "completely false." He condemned the BRS leaders for the "baseless propaganda" that insulted the Centre by calling it "stingy and poor."

Speaking at a media meet at the party state office, Ramchander Rao clarified that the Centre raised queries on PRLIS detailed project report (DPR) during the BRS government tenure. No new issues arose after the Congress took power, he affirmed

"KCR's claim of another CM influencing the Centre to reject DPR is untrue," he said. He accused KCR of political drama, hiding facts, and playing sentiment politics instead of presenting truths. The Centre has done no injustice to Telangana and would not do so, Ramchander Rao asserted.

He said that the BRS president’s recent public appearances after months amounted to "one-time password politics" that would no longer work. People gave BRS a "VRS" (voluntary retirement) for fooling them on water, he added.

On Krishna waters, former Central Water adviser Vedire Sriram made a presentation on Krishna waters and projects and said that Chandrashekar Rao had signed for 299 tmc ft of water for Telangana against AP's 512 tmc ft out of 811 tmc ft in the river, causing lasting damage. Telangana could have secured 400-450 TMC with strong arguments, he said.

The KCR government has done great injustice to state by not including main projects like Palamuru-Rangareddy, Kalwakurthy, Nettampadu, SLBC, Dindi, and Koilsagar in `water sharing agreement of 2015’, he said. These key projects need 261.7 tmc ft of water. The Telangana state has never used full 299 tmc ft of water due to unfinished canal, Sriram said.
