Telangana: BJP Charts Local Poll Strategy
Ramchander Rao also called for sustained mass movements against the Congress’s policies and expressed confidence that the BJP’s vote share would continue to grow across the state if the organisation remained focused and united.
Hyderabad: BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao on Monday laid out a roadmap to strengthen the party’s presence across Telangana in preparation for the upcoming local body and assembly elections.
Addressing a state-level workshop of party leaders at Aushapur on the outskirts of Hyderabad, he urged cadres to harness the momentum of growing public support and work unitedly to secure decisive victories in upcoming local polls.
Talking about his recent visits to Nalgonda, Suryapet and Kodad, Ramchander Rao said there was mounting public resentment against the Congress government, which he alleged was carrying forward the corruption and anti-people policies of the previous BRS regime.
He claimed the BJP’s grassroots presence had significantly expanded in rural Telangana, reflecting the people's desire for change and demand for a BJP-led administration.
Calling for an aggressive push at the local level, he asked party workers to gear up for the elections with renewed commitment and coordination. He strongly criticised the Congress government’s reservation policy, particularly its move to provide 10 per cent religion-based reservations within the 42 per cent quota promised to BCs, calling it divisive and detrimental to BC communities.
Ramchander Rao also called for sustained mass movements against the Congress’s policies and expressed confidence that the BJP’s vote share would continue to grow across the state if the organisation remained focused and united.
Earlier, at a meeting with intellectuals in Kodad, he reiterated his commitment to “abuse-free politics” and emphasised the party’s ideological focus on public welfare and clean governance. Condemning what he described as the use of foul language and personal attacks by rival political leaders, he urged youth to actively participate in politics and help restore dignity to public life.
Cautioning media platforms and content creators on social media, he said, “You may entertain your audience, but please verify facts before publishing. Irresponsible reporting can mislead the public and fuel social unrest.”
The workshop was attended by Union minister for coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy, BJP national vice president D.K. Aruna, national general secretary and state in-charge Sunil Bansal, state general secretary (organisation) Chandrasekhar and other senior leaders.
The meeting reviewed the current political landscape and finalised campaign strategies for the upcoming elections. As part of the action plan, the party will conduct district-level workshops from July 18 to 20, Mandal-level workshops from July 21 to 23, and booth-level meetings on July 25 and 26 to mobilise the cadre.
