Telangana Bans Artificial, Non-Dairy Paneer for One Year

HYDERABAD: In a major public health intervention, the Telangana government has imposed a statewide ban on the manufacture, processing, packaging, storage, distribution, transportation, and sale of analogue, non-dairy, and artificial paneer for a period of one year.

According to an official notification issued by the Commissioner of Food Safety (TG SAFE), the ban has been enforced in the interest of public health under Section 30(2)(a) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

Food safety authorities warned that stringent legal action will be initiated against violators engaging in the production, logistics, or sale of adulterated or artificial substitutes.
