Telangana Advocate Wins World Changemaker Award

HYDERABAD: Telangana-based High Court advocate Dr M.A. Farha received the World Changemaker Award at the Global Youth Congress 2026 in Bangkok for her work in women’s empowerment, education, youth leadership, environmental sustainability and community development.
The three-day congress took place from July 2 to 4 and included delegates, policymakers, youth leaders and social workers from several countries. Dr Farha represented India at the event, where her contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals was recognised.
“Receiving the World Changemaker Award is an honour not just for me but for everyone who believes that social change begins with individual responsibility,” she said, adding that the award strengthened her commitment to work for women, children, youth and the environment.
Dr Farha was also associated with initiatives such as Fit India and Feed India, the release said. She had earlier been named Mrs India 2021 First Runner-Up and Mrs India Photogenic 2021.
Through the Faras Welfare Foundation, which she founded, Dr Farha works on plantation drives, distributes books and stationery to government-school students, supports menstrual hygiene programmes in rural communities and conducts awareness and leadership programmes for women and young people.
