Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case of criminal misconduct against Kandada Venkataiah, who is a senior accountant at the office of Sub-Divisional Treasury Office at Achampet in Nagarkurnool district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.25,000 from a complainant.

The bribe was demanded for processing the complainant's medical leave and related bills and allowances. On August 14, the complainant paid an amount of Rs.3,000 in cash, and the remaining bribe amount of Rs. 22,000 was transferred through PhonePe after four days.

The ACB officials said Venkataiah acted improperly and dishonestly in the discharge of his official duties, with an intention to obtain undue advantage for himself. They arrested him in connection with the case.
