Techie Dies by Suicide at Ladies Hostel in Gachibowli
A case was registered and the reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained. Her body was shifted to the Osmania mortuary for postmortem examination and further investigation is underway.
Hyderabad: A 27-year-old techie died allegedly by suicide at a ladies hostel in Gachibowli on Tuesday night. The victim, Chinthala Yamini, was a native of Khammam district and was working in the city, police said.
The suicide came to light when her roommate, who had returned from her office, found the room’s door latched from the inside. There was no response to her repeated knocks. When she asked the hostel security staff to break the door open, she found Yamini dead.
A case was registered and the reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained. Her body was shifted to the Osmania mortuary for postmortem examination and further investigation is underway.
Former Software Professional, Associates Arrested for Stealing Bikes
Hyderabad: LB Nagar police arrested a former software professional, Shaik Akram, and his associates Ediga Durga Gangadhar and Neerukonda Charan for allegedly stealing bikes. The trio, which used to focus on stealing high-end bikes was detained during a routine vehicle check and arrested after confirming their alleged role in the thefts.
Police recovered 11 stolen vehicles, worth around Rs.18 lakh. Akram was also found to have a prior NDPS case.
Police said Akram ahd previously worked in a software company in Bengaluru as well as with the postal department. After his marriage, he faced financial crisis and took up a job as a bike taxi driver.
He then conspired with his friends to steal and sell two-wheelers. Gangadhar works as a mason and Charan a driver.
Police added that Akram would target motorcycles parked in residential areas. After stealing, he would hide the vehicles at his residence in Boduppal and pass them on to his associates for disposal.
