Teachers’ Delegation Heads to Finland
The first batch will leave for Finland on April 18
HYDERABAD: The government will send a 40‑member delegation of teachers and education officials to Finland from April 20 to 24 for a five‑day exposure visit, part of a wider push to study global classroom practices and adapt those learnings to the state’s school system.
The programme, organised in collaboration with the University of Turku and the University of Helsinki, will include 34 teachers and lecturers along with six officials. Participants were selected through district‑level committees led by district collectors and comprise Secondary Grade teachers,
school assistants, headmasters, mandal and district education officers, Intermediate Board officials and IAS officers.
Officials said the visit follows Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s announcement during Teachers’ Day celebrations last year. The first batch will leave for Finland on April 18. The schedule includes academic sessions by international experts, workshops on classroom practices, and school visits to observe Finland’s teaching systems.
Sessions will cover curriculum design, assessment practices, classroom engagement and the use of ICT in teaching. The department said the exposure is expected to improve classroom practices and student learning outcomes across Telangana. “Similar exposure visits for other delegations to Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam are also being planned shortly,” the department
added.
