TCA Issues Notice to Vijay Deverakonda for Promoting TG20
The notice states that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is conducting business with corporate companies without BCCI approval
Hyderabad: Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) reportedly issued legal notices to film actors Vijay Deverakonda and Venkatesh, as well as cricketers Tilak Varma, Ambati Rayudu, and Mohd Siraj.
The notice states that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is conducting business with corporate companies without BCCI approval and that promoting the HCA's TG20 League—which lacks BCCI authorization—constitutes an offense.
In the notice, a demand was made to disclose the exact nature, capacity, and extent of the actor’s association with the League, including whether you hold any ownership, advisory, promotional, or commercial interest therein;
It sought clarification whether he has independently verified the statutory regulatory approvals, permissions, and compliance status of the League's organizers before publicly associating yourself with the League;
It wanted to know whether he had examined the prevailing concerns regarding player selection processes, district-level representation, governance standards, and financial transparency in connection with the League;
He asked to reconsider and suspend continued participation, endorsement, promotion, or commercial association with the league until all regulatory, governance, and compliance concerns have been satisfactorily addressed and publicly clarified by the organizers.
The notice further sought to respond to it with full clarification within seven days from the date of receiving. However the authorities did not officially confirm.
