Talasani Demands Separate Corporation for Secunderabad to Protect Identity
The government has decided to split the GHMC into three corporations — Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri. Yadav said that Secunderabad, with its 220-year-old legacy, would disappear under the plan.
Hyderabad: BRS Sanathnagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav has demanded a separate district of a municipal corporation for Secunderabad, stating that the current plan of the state government was aimed at erasing the identity of the area. He suggested that the new entity retain the name of Secunderabad or be called Lashkar.

Yadav said the party would hold protests to press the demand till Secunderabad was given its due. He was speaking after a meeting with BRS leaders in Secunderabad on Friday. He noted that the identity of Secunderabad was closely associated with the culture of Telangana.
