Survey Traces Assigned Land In KCR Farmhouse
Non-Dalits found in possession of assigned land in Erravelli: Reports
HYDERABAD: Preliminary findings of the inspection of records and the survey carried out by revenue officials over three days in the surroundings of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s farmhouse in Erravelli of Siddipet district has reportedly established the existence of assigned land within the farmhouse, the use of assigned land to create a water source that mainly caters to the farmhouse and the also possession of huge parcels of assigned land by non-Dalit community members.
The government, according to highly placed sources, would adopt a multi-pronged strategy with regard to the Erravelli land including the re-distribution of assigned land among Dalit community members besides recovering the assigned land from non-Dalits and distributing them to genuine beneficiaries. The utility of the sprawling Panduranga reservoir that mainly caters to Chandrashekar Rao’s land will be re-assessed and limited to the actual requirement so that additional land could be made available for the Dalit community, sources told Deccan Chronicle.
“The actual extent of assigned land in the farmhouse will vary between the present records — allegedly altered by the previous BRS regime while introducing the Dharani portal — and the previous records,” a senior revenue official told Deccan Chronicle. “There is an overlapping of survey numbers and land records between Erravelli and neighbouring Sivaru Venkatapur village.
The actual extent of assigned land in the farmhouse may be determined after rectifying the overlapping,” he said. As of now, at least 10 acres of assignment land was traced in the farmhouse, he added.
Villagers of Sivaru Venkatapuram approached Markook mandal tahsildar Saritha and submitted land records and Naksha followed for decades and accused the previous government of changing the records as per its convenience.
Several farmers whose assigned land holdings were taken away to build the Panduranga reservoir also complained against the previous government’s failure to provide them with alternative land though Chandrashekar Rao promised several times.
“Firstly, we will identify non-Dalits enjoying the possession of assignment land in the contentious Survey No. 325 and evict them. We will also verify the records to ascertain the actual possession of assignment lands by dalit farmers against the land originally allotted to them. The excess land will be re-distributed to other landless dalit families,” sources said.
