 Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have sought seven-day custody of Universal Srushti Fertility Centre owner Dr Namratha and her son Jayanth for questioning in connection with alleged illegal surrogacy practices and cheating. The petition was heard by the court on Wednesday, with both sides presenting arguments. The court posted its decision for Thursday.

According to the police, several couples were allegedly defrauded by Dr Namratha, who collected large sums under the pretext of providing surrogacy treatment. When one couple demanded a refund, Jayanth reportedly threatened and assaulted them.
