Subba Reddy’s land dispute: Telangana HC directs police to stay away
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed Gachibowli police not to interfere in the civil dispute between YSRC leader and TTDs former chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy, his wife Swarnalatha Reddy and opponent parties over a land admeasuring acres 5- 04 guntas in Survey No. 87 of Kondapur village, Serilingampally mandal, Ranga Reddy district.
The court, meanwhile, also made it clear to the police that they should take action in case of any breakdown of law and order or if any untoward incidents are noticed during the course of investigation.
Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy was dealing with a petition filed by Shaik Islamuddin, Narasimha Reddy and others complaining that the police were supporting Subba Reddy and his family over the subject land, which is in dispute. Both sides have lodged complaints at Gachibowli police station, four days ago and two FIRs have been registered.
Senior counsel Kondam Vivek Reddy and Rohit Pogula appearing for Subba Reddy and his wife submitted to the court that their clients have title over the property by virtue of registered sale deeds, whereas the opponent parties do not have any registered documents and they are claiming title on the strength of the exparte decree passed by the civil court in 2010. Moreover, the opponents are not parties in the suit, the counsel said.
Government pleader Mahesh Raje submitted that the allegations against the police were baseless and added that investigation is being conducted with reference to the FIRs, without entering into the merits of the case.
