Hyderabad: Two of India’s most acclaimed classical musicians — sarod maestro Pandit Debojyoti Bose and tabla exponent Ustad Akram Khan — will perform in Hyderabad on May 24 as part of the Classical Concert Series 2025 (Season 5), in support of the Autism Ashram.

Organised by the Sangitanjaly Foundation, the concert will be held at Ravindra Bharathi from 7 pm onwards. Entry is through donor passes, which are available online. The event is being held in association with the Department of Language and Culture, Government of Telangana.

Pandit Debojyoti Bose, a distinguished musician of the Senia Bangash Gharana and disciple of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, hails from a renowned musical family in Kolkata. Ustad Akram Khan, a seventh-generation artiste of the Ajrada Gharana, is revered for his mastery over rhythm and improvisation, with performances spanning across India and abroad.

The concert has been curated by Grammy Jury member and GIMA Award winner Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee, along with social entrepreneur Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee. Last year’s edition, which featured Pandit Bhuvanesh Komkali, received strong appreciation from both in-person and online audiences.

The Foundation, a non-profit, works to promote Indian classical music while creating space for emerging talent. “Initiatives rooted in culture have a unique power to connect with communities,” said the organisers.
