Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday challenged Congress leaders who criticised him to first take stock of comments of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who in the past had “repeatedly abused the Gandhi family.” “All I said was that Rahul Gandhi was called ‘Mudda Pappu’ by Revanth Reddy. I only repeated what their own Chief Minister said,” Rama Rao said.

Rama Rao was speaking at a meeting at Telangana Bhavan after admitting Congress leaders and workers from Serilingampally constituency into the BRS. Revanth Reddy had also called Sonia Gandhi a “sacrificial goddess who took the lives of a thousand people and killed Telangana’s children,” he said.

“Why are you speaking against us while protecting the man who abused the Gandhi family? If you have any political courage, question Revanth Reddy first before attacking me,” Rama Rao advised Congress leaders.

Rama Rao said Congress leaders were targetting Opposition leaders for referencing Revanth Reddy’s remarks. Congress ministers and MLAs are unable to question Revanth Reddy and are redirecting their frustration at others, Rama Rao added.
