State Unveils Green MSME Drive
Sridhar Babu said the package of digital tools and guidelines signals Telangana’s intent to pair sustainability with economic growth and position the State as a national leader in responsible industrial development.
Hyderabad: Telangana on Tuesday unveiled a coordinated push to green its Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), launching a state portal, an MSME assessment toolkit and a digital dashboard under the Centre’s RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) programme to fast‑track adoption of energy‑efficient and cleaner manufacturing practices.
The “Telangana MSME Greening Summit — A RAMP Initiative”, organised by the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH) and the Hyderabad S&T Cluster at HITEX, drew policymakers, senior officials, industry associations, financiers, technology providers and MSME representatives to discuss practical pathways for sustainable industrial transformation. RAMP, funded with World Bank assistance, aims to boost MSME competitiveness through technology adoption, institutional capacity building, market access and cluster development.
At the event, IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the Telangana MSME Greening Portal and the MSME Assessment Toolkit, intended as a single‑point touchstone for enterprises to learn about and engage with RAMP components. The directorate of industries, TGSPDCL, MSME DFO and TGIIC also launched sectoral technology compendiums to guide industry‑specific upgrades.
Roundtable sessions featured MSME leaders sharing real‑world greening journeys, highlighting barriers such as upfront costs, technical know‑how and digital monitoring gaps, and exploring collaborative support mechanisms involving finance, utilities and technology partners. Officials emphasised a convergent implementation model to align state agencies, technical institutions and private partners.
Sridhar Babu said the package of digital tools and guidelines signals Telangana’s intent to pair sustainability with economic growth and position the State as a national leader in responsible industrial development.
Director of industries Nikhil Chakravarthy described the dashboard as a critical platform for monitoring, engagement and ecosystem coordination, while RICH CEO Rashmi Pimpale underlined the role of innovation‑led collaboration in delivering measurable impact for MSMEs.
