Hyderabad:Major temples across Telangana have performed special prayers on Friday for the grand success of Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. They also wished for the strength and safety of members belonging to the Indian armed forces.

Following a circular issued by the endowments department, priests conducted homams seeking the success of Indian operations against Pakistan. A large number of devotees, who witnessed the special rituals, expressed solidarity with soldiers fighting on the frontlines.

The temple priests of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta have conducted the homam and special pooja. The Chandi havana ritual was also performed at Shivalayam located on the hill shrine, seeking the blessings of Goddess Chamundi for the Indian armed forces.

A large number of youths participated in the pujas, holding Indian flags in their hands, and the temples reverberated with ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogans.

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple executive officer S. Venkat Rao said the state government has directed the officials of all major temples to perform poojas, homams and bhajans for the victory of India and the safety of armed personnel. The three-day Sri Nrusimha Jayanthi celebrations have also begun at the temple with chanting of Swasti Vachanam by the temple priests.

Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple at Vemulawada also conducted special rituals for India’s victory and divine blessings for the members of the armed forces, their safety and well-being. The rituals were conducted by invoking Sri Laxmi Ganapathi and also Goddess Parvathi and Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy by performing Chandi Sahita Rudra Homam.

A large number of devotees and staff took part in the rituals at the temple, which is popular as Southern Kashi and prayed for the peace and safety of civilians and members of the armed forces.

Similarly, special pujas were conducted at Ganesh temple at Rudraram in Sangareddy, Satyanarayana Swamy temple at Gudemguda in Mancherial and Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Khammam, among others.

The homams will be conducted at the Bhadrakali temple in Warangal and Gnana Saraswathi temple at Basara on Saturday.
