Hyderabad: Building on Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s (CMC) ongoing food safety inspections and coordination with online food delivery platforms, the CMC Commissioner G Srijana held a follow-up meeting with the Zomato legal team to strengthen compliance at the platform level.

The discussions focused on delisting and cancellation of Food Business Operators repeatedly violating food safety and hygiene norms. Verification of FSSAI licence number, validity and category of business before onboarding.

Preventing multiple establishments from operating under a single FSSAI licence and stronger compliance checks before allowing non-compliant establishments back on the platform were also discussed.

Zomato assured its cooperation in strengthening these measures, taking the ongoing CMC food safety initiative a step further towards safer food for consumers.
