Slot Booking To Speed Up Property Registrations in 25 More SROs From May 12
System to cover all 144 sub-registrar offices in Telangana by month-end, says stamps and registration minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
Hyderabad: In an attempt to speed up the property registration process, the Congress government will implement slot booking options in 25 more Sub Registrar Offices (SROs) from May 12 and in all SROs by the end of May, said stamps and registration minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Sunday.
"Earlier buyers and sellers, who come to SROs to get properties registered, had to wait for hours under trees. Keeping this in mind, we are not only modernising sub-registrar offices but also implementing the slot booking system in a phased manner. The slot booking system was already on in 22 SROs on an experimental basis since May 10 and has given good results. So we will roll it in another 25 SROs from May 12. We will implement it in 144 sub-registrar offices in the state by the end of May," Srinivas Reddy said.
The minister also reiterated that the SRO officers and staff are responsible for not providing fast and efficient services to people by implementing the new system. In order to facilitate the slot booking process in the SROs where the workload is high and more than 48 slots are required, additional sub-registrars will be appointed in addition to the existing sub-registrars.
Srinivas Reddy further stated that two additional SROs and a staff member have already been appointed in the Quthbullapur office in Medchal Malkajgiri district on an experimental basis. A similar method would be introduced in SROs at Uppal, Maheshwaram and Mancherial and an additional sub-registrar will be appointed to each SROs.
"Steps have been taken to equalise the workload by merging the areas of the SROs with high and low congestion. As part of the measures, the jurisdiction of Champapet and Saroor Nagar Sub Registrar Offices in Ranga Reddy district has already been merged, and Shadnagar and Farooqnagar, Siddipet and Siddipet (Rural) have been merged," the minister said.
