Sitarama Project Opens to Irrigate Wyra, Sathupally

Consequently, farmers within the Nagarjunasagar left canal ayacut will receive Godavari water for irrigation during the monsoon cropping season in Wyra.

 Nalgonda: Water was released on Saturday from the Sitarama Project through its first pumphouse at G.B. Kothuru to irrigate the ayacut of the Nagarjuna Sagar left canal in Khammam district.

Since the scheduled release into the Nagarjunasagar left canal was delayed, agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao intervened and spoke with irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, securing the release of water from the Sitarama Project. This release will provide irrigation to farmers in the Wyra and Sathupally areas. Consequently, farmers within the Nagarjunasagar left canal ayacut will receive Godavari water for irrigation during the monsoon cropping season in Wyra.
