Silver Rs. 75 Coin To Be Issued For Somnath Swabhiman Parv

According to numismatist Sudhir Lunawat, the 40-gram pure silver coin will feature an artistic image of the Somnath temple on one side, along with the message “A Celebration of 1000 Years of India’s Unwavering Faith and Devotion”.

Hyderabad: The Centre will issue a special Rs 75 silver commemorative coin to mark Somnath Swabhiman Parv, celebrating two major milestones in the temple’s history. The event commemorates 75 years since the temple’s re-consecration in independent India in 1951, along with 1,000 years since the first recorded attack on the Somnath temple by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026.

According to numismatist Sudhir Lunawat, the 40-gram pure silver coin will feature an artistic image of the Somnath temple on one side, along with the message “A Celebration of 1000 Years of India’s Unwavering Faith and Devotion”.

The reverse side will display the National Emblem and the Rs 75 denomination. The coin will be minted by Government Mint at Kolkata and made available online for collectors and devotees.
