Siby Mining, NIRM Sign Deal for Precision Blasting Solutions
Siby had assisted Coal India Limited in unlocking coal reserves at Central Coalfields Limited and Eastern Coalfields Limited.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Siby Mining and Infrastructure and the National Institute of Rock Mechanics (NIRM) signed a MoU to pool technical expertise of both organisations to deliver safe and precise blasting solutions in India, a release said.
Siby company undertakes excavation and rock blasting works for national highways, power projects, mining overburden removal, and aggregate production. Siby had assisted Coal India Limited in unlocking coal reserves at Central Coalfields Limited and Eastern Coalfields Limited.
" India is witnessing a growing need for precision-controlled blasting in coal mining and large-scale infrastructure development. It is estimated that over 20–30 million tonnes of coal remain locked due to geological complexities, and advanced blasting methods can help extract these resources efficiently. Siby is in discussions to undertake such extractions," said Siby Lukose, MD, Siby Mining.
" NIRM has technical expertise in rock mechanics and rock engineering,” said Dr. Sripad R. Naik, director, NIRM.
