Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Disciplinary Action Committee has appointed MLC K. Shankar Naik as observer to address internal differences in the Palakurthi Assembly constituency.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Disciplinary Action Committee has appointed MLC K. Shankar Naik as observer to address internal differences in the Palakurthi Assembly constituency.
The move follows complaints and counter-complaints between rival groups within the party. MLA M. Yashaswini Reddy appeared before the committee, chaired by MP Mallu Ravi, on Sunday as part of the inquiry.
Party leader H. Jhansi Reddy and rival group leaders R. Krishna Kishore Reddy and Hari Prasad also met the committee separately following summons.
“An inquiry was conducted regarding a complaint received from the Palakurthi constituency. We spoke with MLA Yashaswini Reddy and Jhansi Reddy. The party is suffering damage due to the activities of these two groups (rivalry). We have appointed MLC Shankar Naik as an observer,” Mallu Ravi said.
The committee had earlier issued notices on April 26 to Krishna Kishore Reddy and Hari Prasad over alleged anti-party activities during municipal polls. The complaints were lodged by Yashaswini Reddy and Jhansi Reddy.
