Shabbir Assures Ration Cards For All Eligible
Shabbir Ali strongly criticised the previous BRS government for denying ration cards for a decade, saying the move had severely impacted the poor.
NIZAMABAD: State government adviser Mohammad Ali Shabbir said that all eligible beneficiaries will be provided with new ration cards and Indiramma houses, as this is a people’s government committed to the welfare of the poor. He added that empowering one crore women to become millionaires is a key mission of the government.
Shabbir participated as the chief guest at several events held in Kamareddy town and Bhiknoor mandal headquarters on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the long-awaited dream of thousands of poor families to receive ration cards has finally been fulfilled by the Congress party after 10 years.
Shabbir Ali strongly criticised the previous BRS government for denying ration cards for a decade, saying the move had severely impacted the poor. He noted that once the people’s government assumed office, the process of issuing ration cards was fast-tracked. He emphasised that the distribution is being conducted transparently by identifying eligible beneficiaries through village-level meetings, ensuring that every qualified family receives a card.
He also highlighted various government initiatives aimed at the economic and social empowerment of women. He mentioned that women's self-help groups are now being provided with ₹10 lakh in accident and health insurance coverage, and every member is to be covered under life insurance.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the BC Declaration, Shabbir said that proposals for Rural Development (RD) reservations have already been submitted to the Governor. He added that upcoming local body elections will be conducted in accordance with BC reservation norms.
He reiterated that the Telangana government is firmly committed to public welfare and state development. Meanwhile, Kamareddy town has received approvals worth approximately ₹7 crore for the construction of CC roads and drainage works.
