Senior Officer’s Gunman Goes Missing; Suspected Distress Over Alleged Harassment

His wife lodged a missing complaint with the Lake police

A head constable, posted as gunman for a senior police officer posted in the city, has reportedly gone missing since 4 pm on Saturday. He was last seen signing off from work and did not return home. Police said he had left his two-wheeler, his house keys and lunch box at the office.

His wife lodged a missing complaint with the Lake police who were examining CCTV camera footage in which the head constable was seen near Hussainsagar. He was also seen near the HYDRAA office near the lake shore.

It is suspected that he was under extreme emotional distress after his senior official reportedly upbraided him in front of his colleagues. It was reported that the head constable was under pressure to reveal to another constable, the phone number and data of a woman victim who had lodged a complaint with a special team for women safety, sources disclosed.
After the head constable refused, the other official abused him in a filthy language regarding which Suresh filed a written complaint with an ACP rank officer. No action was taken, which could have upset the head constable, sources said.

Four-Vehicle Pile-up at Hayathnagar: TGRTC Buses Involved in Chain Reaction Crash

A road accident involving four vehicles, including two buses, near the Hayathnagar bus stop on Sunday morning left one passenger injured.
According to the complainant, he was travelling from Vanasthalipuram towards the mandal revenue office, when traffic came to a halt near the Hayathnagar bus stop. At around 10.40 am, a TGRTC Palle Velugu bus rammed into his car from behind.

Preliminary findings suggested that the collision was triggered by an electric bus coming from behind reportedly at high speed. The e-bus reportedly hit the Palle Velugu bus, causing a chain reaction in which the bus struck the complainant’s vehicle, which in turn collided with a car ahead.
As a result, the complainant’s car sustained damage to its rear and bonnet. A passenger travelling in the Palle Velugu bus suffered bleeding injuries, officials said.
Police stated that rash and negligent driving is suspected to be the primary cause of the accident. A case was registered and further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events.

Over 1,000 drunk driving cases booked in week

A massive enforcement drive by traffic police across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri commissionerates last week resulted in 1,046 drunken driving cases being booked.

Hyderabad traffic police registered 445 cases during a two‑day special drive on May 1 and 2. Of these, 371 offenders were two‑wheeler riders, followed by 26 three‑wheeler drivers and 48 four‑wheeler and other vehicle drivers. Alarmingly, eight drivers recorded Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels exceeding 300 mg/100 ml.

Cyberabad traffic police booked 283 offenders during a weekend drive. The majority — 227 — were two‑wheeler riders, while 39 were four‑wheeler drivers, nine three‑wheeler operators and eight heavy vehicle drivers. Notably, 28 offenders recorded BAC levels between 301 mg/100 ml and 550 mg/100 ml, indicating severe intoxication.

Meanwhile, Malkajgiri traffic police apprehended 318 offenders between April 26 and May 2. Two‑wheeler riders accounted for 271 cases, with 37 four‑wheelers and 10 three‑wheelers also booked. Five offenders recorded BAC levels above 300 mg/100 ml.

Police across all commissionerates said offenders would be produced before court. Authorities warned that drunk driving is a serious offence and those causing fatal accidents while intoxicated would be charged under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers culpable homicide not amounting to murder and carries up to 10 years’ imprisonment.

Court disposals over the past week included fines, social service and imprisonment, underlining the judiciary’s firm stance. Officials stressed continued zero‑tolerance enforcement and urged commuters to act responsibly.

Odisha woman dies by suicide in Shamshabad

A 26‑year‑old woman died by suicide at her residence in Shamshabad on Sunday, with police suspecting harassment over dowry demands as a possible cause. The victim, Deepanjali Pradhan, a native of Odisha, was residing with her husband in a room in Malkaram for some months.

Based on statements from her family members, police suspect she was subjected to harassment related to additional dowry demands. The couple were also quarrelling over money for him to purchase a bike. A case has been registered against her husband and his family members under relevant sections.

The body was shifted for postmortem examination, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the death, police said.

Keesara Police Bust Land Scam: 6 Arrested for Selling Plot Using Fake Documents

Keesara police arrested six persons for allegedly creating fake documents on a plot and selling it multiple times, in Medchal–Malkajgiri district on Sunday. Malkajgiri DCP Ch Sridhar said the case came to light after a senior citizen lodged a complaint with regard to a plot he had purchased in 1983 in Rampally village.

The complainant said the plot had been fraudulently registered in the names of others by using fake sale deeds. During investigation, police found that the accused targeted vacant plots, assuming that the original owners were either unavailable or unlikely to notice. They allegedly fabricated link documents and colluded with a document writer and others to execute fake registrations.”
The accused created a owner who does not exist and carried out multiple transactions, eventually transferring the property through several individuals before registering it in the names of the final buyers.
The arrested persons were Jangala Sriram, Gubbala Venkateshwar Rao, Bandella Prashanth, Bandella Prabhakar, Ponnaboyina Balakrishna, and Uday Reddy, a document writer. They were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody. Efforts were underway to apprehend the remaining accused.

Gas Refilling Racket Busted in Goshamahal; Five Arrested for Selling Underweight Cylinders

Goshamahal police arrested five persons for allegedly illegally refilling LPG cylinders and supplying underweight gas refills to customers, in the process shortchanging buyers and posing serious safety risks.

Police said the gang of Alle Sai Kumar, Dalmova Vineeth Kumar, D. Praveen Kumar, Makadia Ameet Kumar, and Pusa Ganesh was allegedly involved in transferring gas from domestic cylinders into smaller cylinders and commercial cylinders.

The case came to light following a complaint from a consumer who reported receiving an underweight LPG cylinder. Police conducted a raid and apprehended the accused. Police seized several items, including commercial and domestic LPG cylinders, small cylinders, and a refilling kit.

Police booked the accused under the BNS, the Essential Commodities Act and the Explosives Act and produced them before a court which remanded to judicial custody. Police urged the public to verify cylinder weight during delivery and report any suspicious activities to prevent such illegal practices.

Telangana Police Reach Ghaziabad to Serve Notice to DD Anchor Ashok Shrivastava


A Telangana police team went to the residence of Doordarshan News anchor Ashok Shrivastava in Ghaziabad, UP, to serve notice in a case registered here regarding his alleged remarks against Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

Two sub-inspectors of the city police along with a team were to serve a notice to Shrivastava under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to summon him for the investigation. The team informed the Link Road police in Ghaziabad before serving notice.
Police sources said the visiting team coordinated with local authorities before reaching Shrivastava’s residence at about 8 am on Saturday. Shrivastava was not present at the time at that time. Officials met his elderly mother and son and urged them to inform him about the case pending against him and returned on Sunday morning.
Officials did not disclose details about the complainant and remarks made by the anchor on which the case was booked.
Sources said that during a TV debate featuring BJP spokesperson Tuhin Sinha, political analyst Syed Javed, Rohit Singh of Yuva Chetna, and Ashok Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, Srivastava reportedly passed alleged derogatory statements against Rahul Gandhi.

It is reported that the police will be taking further direction from superior officials and seek legal opinion for further action.

Body of Unidentified Man Found at Secunderabad Railway Station; Police Seek Leads

An unidentified man died by suicide at about 6.40 am at the Secunderabad railway station, S.N. Jawed DSP of the Government Railway Police said. The victim was stated to be 5.6 feet tall, with a tattoo reading Pallavi on the right upper arm. “We did not find any identity papers with the victim,” the official said. The victim’s body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem and preservation.
