Send Students Safely: CM Revanth to Telangana Bhavan
A large number of people from Telangana, who were residing in border states, have begun arriving at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday directed officials at the Telangana Bhavan, including the resident commissioner in New Delhi, to take steps to provide safe transport to Telugu-speaking students studying different universities in the border states to return to their native places in view of the security situation arising out of the India-Pakistan conflict.
The direction was issued after the Indian armed forces clarified that there was no ceasefire between India and Pakistan and that the Operation Sindoor was still on.
The Chief Minister also instructed law enforcement and security agencies to continue efforts to enhance security and prevent any untoward incidents. He directed senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, to ensure compliance with security arrangements by closely monitoring regular alerts issued by the Union home ministry.
A large number of people from Telangana, who were residing in border states, have begun arriving at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi. According to officials, 126 state residents have reached Telangana Bhavan so far. Notably, 91 persons had reached Telangana Bhavan since midnight.
At least 50 students from NIT Srinagar, students and faculty from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences, employees working in Jammu & Kashmir, students from a university Punjab and others residing or studying in the affected border regions
Officials arranged transport for 57 to return to their hometowns. The remaining are being accommodated at Telangana Bhawan with continued support.
All returnees are being provided with free food, lodging, medical aid, and transportation facilities for their onward journeys. Coordination is being maintained with concerned district administrations and central authorities to ensure seamless movement and safety of all citizens.
Resident Commissioner Dr Gaurav Uppal reviewed arrangements at Telangana Bhavan following the Chief Minister’s directives. He oversaw provisions for food, accommodation, medical aid, and transport in coordination with the Telangana Bhavan staff and made suitable recommendations. Dr Uppal stated that the government would extend all possible assistance to everyone arriving at Telangana Bhavan during this period.
