Telangana Women and Child Welfare Minister Dansari Anasuya Seethakka has directed officials to ensure 100 per cent basic infrastructure in all Anganwadi centres across the state without delay.

During a review meeting at the Secretariat, the Minister said that in the past year alone, toilets were provided to 5,938 centres, drinking water to 3,815 centres, and electricity to 14,271 centres. She appreciated officials for the progress and instructed them to complete the remaining works on priority.

Seethakka also asked officials to implement the milk and breakfast scheme for Anganwadi children in all districts without delay and to strengthen nutrition programmes based on sample surveys.

She directed speedy filling of vacancies of Anganwadi teachers and helpers, conduct of district-level meetings with staff, and improvement of pre-school education, adoption centres, and child marriage prevention measures.

The Minister stressed that Anganwadi centres should be child-friendly, well-maintained, and equipped to support children’s health, learning, and overall development, while ensuring effective utilisation of funds without lapses.
