Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has decided to dismantle the dilapidated foot over bridge (FoB) located on the Begumpet side of Hyderabad (Nampally) railway station in view of public safety and better rail operations.
According to the officials, the FoB, which connects the Red Hills area with the Public Garden, is not linked to any of the platforms and has outlived its structural life. The bridge, which is over 50 years old, has suffered severe structural deterioration.
Officials said the FoB is situated above multiple railway yard lines, posing a potential risk to both railway operations and public safety. The structure will be dismantled in a phased manner between December 20 and 23.
