Hyderabad: The sudden rain in several parts of the State including Hyderabad has brought much needed relief to people from the sweltering heat conditions since Tuesday night. Boothpur in Mahbubnagar registered the highest rainfall of 112 mm.
The rain continued till Wednesday morning. The day temperatures also dipped significantly in several districts.
The drastic dip in temperature enabled the people to switch off their air coolers and air-conditioners since morning and enjoyed cool weather. Some netizens shared selfies taken from their smart phones from the terrace and balconies to their friends and relatives explaining how weather changed completely in Hyderabad last night.
Hyderabad recorded a temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius at 8.30 am on Tuesday but it is 23 degrees Celsius at 8.30 am on Wednesday dropping temperature to double digit, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Similarly, Khammam, which registered the highest temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius at 8.30 am on Tuesday, recorded 36.4 degrees Celsius at 8.30 on Wednesday. The day temperature registered a dip of nine degrees Celsius in Khammam since last night.
Ramagundam, which registered the second highest day temperature on Tuesday, registered a dip in temperature on Wednesday. It recorded 45.2 degrees Celsius at 8.30 am on Tuesday and 28 degrees Celsius on Wednesday at 8.30 am.
