HYDERABAD: Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar has alleged that Congress party is indulging in political immorality when it comes to defections. He said it is disgraceful that the Assembly Speaker has delivered a verdict claiming there is no evidence of MLAs defecting, despite clear instances of defected MLAs moving closely with Congress.

Addressing a street corner election meeting in Sircilla, Sanjay Kumar said Congress has put pressure on the Speaker, despite the defected MLAs openly operating from Gandhi Bhavan. “These MLAs are holding meetings in district Congress offices, and B-Forms are being handed over to them. Despite this, saying that there is no proof of defection is shocking,” the Union minister said, pointing out that such rulings make a mockery of democracy.

Sanjay Kumar asked the Speaker not to tarnish the image of the constitutional chair. He warned that the Speaker would be remembered as an unfortunate chapter in the history if he goes ahead with giving clean chit to defected MLAs.

Stating that BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao is camping in Sircilla with the fear of losing the municipality, the Union minister asked voters to take the offered amount of ₹10,000 for each vote and cast their vote to the BJP candidates. He asked voters not to trust the BRS, which is involved in family politics and neck deep corruption.

Referring to the ongoing temple construction works at Vemulawada, Bandi Sanjay charged that the government is not following “agama shastra traditions.” Instead of using stones, the government is carrying out the construction with cement and concrete.

He said hundreds of devotees visiting Vemulawada temple after their prayers at Sammakka Saralamma Temple have been facing severe hardships.
