Savitribai Phule Birth Anniversary Celebrated

Nizamabad:Birth anniversary celebrations of Savitribai Phule were held across Nizamabad district and Kamareddy district on Saturday.

Various organisations organised programmes in both urban and rural areas to mark the occasion. As part of the celebrations, organisers garlanded statues and portraits of Savitribai Phule. Women teachers, teachers’ union leaders and students, among others, participated.

Speaking on the occasion, speakers recalled that Savitribai Phule was the country’s first woman teacher and described her as a source of inspiration for society. They said the growth in the number of women teachers and girl students in the country was inspired by the ideals and efforts of Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule.
