RTC Conductor Wins Accolades For Returning Bag With Gold Ornaments, Cash

The bag contained 14 tulas gold and 10 tulas silver ornaments, along with cash

RTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar felicitating a bus conductor Venkateshwarlu for returning a bag with ornaments and cash at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) here on Monday felicitated a conductor for returning a bag containing gold and silver ornaments along with and cash, all worth over Rs.13 lakh to a passenger, who lost it while traveling in the bus.

A certificate of appreciation was also presented to the conductor Venkateshwarlu. The bag was handed over to passenger Anil Kumar in the presence of RTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar at Bus Bhavan here.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Venkateshwarlu showed humanity and returned the bag to the passenger. “We congratulate Venkateshwarlu from Achampet depot for proving his honesty by handing over a bag lost in the bus to a passenger.”

Sajjanar said that the RTC staff was getting special recognition in the society for going an extra mile while performing their duties efficiently.

Officials said Venkateshwarlu was on duty on Achampet-Hyderabad route bus on Saturday. Upon reaching MGBS, the conductor noticed that a passenger had forgotten a bag in the bus. When the bag was opened, it contained gold and silver ornaments, cash, and several certificates.

The conductor immediately informed Achampet Depot Manager Murali Durga Prasad over phone. Prasad suggested that the bag be handed over to the station manager’s office in MGBS.

Meanwhile, passenger Anil Kumar called Prasad and told him that he had forgotten his bag in the bus. He said that he had boarded the bus at Kandukur and got down at Central Bus Station (CBS) and gone to Kacheguda.

Prasad suggested Anil Kumar to visit the station manager's office in MGBS After checking details, the TGSRTC officials handed over the bag to him. The bag contained 14 tulas gold and 10 tulas silver ornaments, along with Rs.14,800 in cash, Anil Kumar son's birth certificate, and educational certificates.
