HYDERABAD: In its centenary year, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will launch a nationwide campaign aimed at ideological consolidation and social transformation, with a strong focus on fostering social harmony. The drive will officially begin on Vijayadasami, October 2, and will include more than one lakh outreach events across the country, including in sensitive areas such as Manipur and Assam.

As part of this effort, the RSS will conduct around 12,000 Samajik Sadbhav Baithaks (social harmony meetings) at the district and block levels, bringing together representatives from diverse religious, linguistic and regional communities. These forums will aim to promote unity and eliminate social divisions through dialogue and cooperation.

In parallel, a Grih Sampark Abhiyan (house-to-house contact campaign) will begin in November, in which RSS volunteers will personally visit households across rural and urban areas. Volunteers will initiate discussions on national issues, social integration and the RSS’s ideological vision, aiming for direct, personalised engagement. The outreach will cover every village and every home, leveraging the Sangh’s vast grassroots network of over 60,000 rural clusters and 44,000 urban bastis.

A senior RSS functionary said prominent citizens and intellectuals will also participate in events and seminars throughout the year, focusing on Hindutva, national interest, India's future and the theme of "belongingness," as emphasised by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. To further strengthen its grassroots presence, the RSS plans to increase the number of daily shakhas (local branches) to over one lakh during the centenary year, along with weekly shakhas and other local engagements.

The celebrations will commence with Vijayadasami programmes at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. One of the key resolutions passed in the recent RSS meeting held in Delhi was to expand its mass outreach by organising 1.03 lakh Hindu Sammelans across rural and urban India. These gatherings will address internal caste misconceptions and promote Hindu unity through respectful dialogue.

The celebrations will also centre around the Panch Parivartan themes, which form the ideological foundation of the initiative. These include promoting social unity, environmentally conscious family lifestyles, self-awareness, family values and civic duties.
