Hyderabad:Administrative sanction of `416 crore has been accorded for a six-lane bi-directional flyover crossing TKR college junction, Gayathrinagar junction and Mandamallamma junction, located in LB Nagar Zone of the Malkajgiri municipal corporation (MMC).

The flyover will be built under engineering, procurement and construction contract turnkey project basis and will be part of the Hyderabad city innovation and transformative infrastructure project, by KNR Constructions.

According to MMC officials, works related to land acquisition and utility shifting will start soon. The flyover will connect the city's eastern part to its extended southern part, covering areas like Meerpet, Badangpet and Almasguda. In addition to this, the flyover is also expected to improve connectivity from LB Nagar junction towards the Old City, near Santoshnagar.

All the three junctions from where this flyover traverses — the ones at TKR College, Gayathrinagar and Mandamallamma — presently experience heavy vehicular traffic. These junctions are also major points that lead to dozens of residential colonies in the city's eastern part that have witnessed an increase in population since the last 10 years.
