Revanth to Lead Congress Stir for BC Bill Consent
Revanth Reddy will lead a dharna at Jantar Mantar on August 6
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will leave for Delhi on Tuesday for a three-day visit from August 5 to 7 to intensify pressure on the BJP-led Central government to clear the 42 per cent BC reservation Bill passed by the Assembly in March. These Bills have been pending with the Centre for months. All Cabinet ministers, Congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs will accompany the Chief Minister.
Revanth Reddy will lead a dharna at Jantar Mantar on August 6. The TPCC took party leaders and workers in large numbers in a special train. The train carried at least 50 party workers from each Assembly constituency. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, along with Congress MLAs and MLCs, travelled in the special train.
On August 7, the CM will lead a Telangana to Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet President Droupadi Murmu. Congress MPs will move adjournment motions in Parliament on Tuesday.
“We are hopeful of a positive response,” said Prabhakar, noting that over 100 Congress MPs and national leaders will join the agitation. He also urged BJP MPs to support the initiative to expedite Presidential assent.
