Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch a series of development programmes in the upcoming Future City on Wednesday, including the inauguration of the headquarters of the Future City Development Authority (FCDA), a key institution that will steer the planning and execution of Telangana’s ambitious greenfield urban development project.

The FCDA headquarters has achieved a significant milestone even before its formal inauguration by securing recognition from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) as an environmentally sustainable building.

The office has been classified as a Net Zero Building in view of its eco-friendly design, use of environmentally safe construction materials, scientific rainwater harvesting systems and renewable energy initiatives. Officials said every drop of rainwater falling on the premises would be conserved and channelled into the ground through an advanced rainwater management system.

Built as a strategic command centre for the future development of IT, artificial intelligence and life sciences clusters in Future City, the FCDA office has been equipped with modern workstations modelled on leading IT and software companies. Special chambers have been created for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in his capacity as FCDA chairman and for IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, who serves as the vice-chairman of the authority.

As part of its sustainability initiatives, the office will house a 15-kilowatt solar power plant to generate clean energy and reduce carbon emissions. Two electric vehicle charging stations have also been installed for officials and representatives of multinational companies visiting the facility. A bio-digester plant has been set up to convert organic waste generated on the campus into biogas and organic manure.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the FCDA headquarters on September 28, 2025. He had then declared that he would work from the FCDA office at least three times a month and hold meetings with foreign investors there instead of the Secretariat.

He had also urged Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Sridhar Babu to regularly operate from the Future City campus. Following the inauguration, Revanth Reddy is scheduled to address a public meeting near the FCDA headquarters, where he is expected to outline the government's vision for transforming Future City into a global hub for innovation, technology, research and investment.
