Revanth to Give Fillip to Grassroot Party Activities
The PAC is also likely to discuss party activities to be expanded in rural as well as urban areas, including district headquarters.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday decided to intensify party activities from the village level to the state level to strengthen the cadre. He is likely to take a final call on BC reservations and local body elections in consultation with senior party leaders at the TPCC Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting on August 23.
The Chief Minister had reportedly discussed these issues with TPCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, minister Ponnam Prabhakar Goud, and TPCC senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao, who met him at his residence on Sunday.
During its meeting at Gandhi Bhavan on August 23, the PAC is likely to finalise the party’s stand on BC reservations and local body elections, in the view of the Governor not giving his assent to two BC Bills cleared by the state legislature and the Central government not recommending the President to approve the Bills, which aim to increase the reservation for the backward class community.
The PAC is also likely to discuss party activities to be expanded in rural as well as urban areas, including district headquarters.
The Chief Minister said the Congress government had introduced several landmark schemes for the benefit of the poor and middle-class people since the party came to power in Telangana and the party leaders must communicate benefits to the people, especially in the view of local body elections.
The PAC meeting will also discuss the current political situation, highlighting the NDA-led BJP government's negligence in allocating funds and facilities to Telangana.
