CM Revanth Tells Officials to Speed Up Works at Medaram, Basara Temples
The Chief Minister instructed officials to prepare plans to complete the development work of Medaram within 100 days
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday directed officials to speed up works for the development of famous Medaram and Basara temples and undertake works with a clear focus on providing better facilities to devotees.
After officials presented detailed master plans to the Chief Minister on the proposed works at Medaram and Basara, Revanth Reddy instructed them to ensure that the development of Medaram is completed within 100 days so that devotees can avail improved facilities during the upcoming Medaram Maha Jatara. He said that the construction should retain the natural and traditional appeal by using stone structures.
The Chief Minister reviewed several design options and suggested that proper arrangements for entry and exit points, parking spaces and other amenities must be made for the convenience of devotees. He further directed officials to plan the construction of check dams in different areas of Jampanna Vagu to ensure water availability in the future.
Revanth Reddy also announced that he would personally visit Medaram this week to conduct a field inspection and asked officials to make necessary arrangements for the visit.
On Basara temple development, the Chief Minister suggested the expansion of the Gnana Saraswati temple. He stressed that while developing these temples, the sentiments of local people must be respected and the views of local experts and priests should be taken into account.
Ministers Konda Surekha, Danasari ‘Seethakka’ Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Adluri Laxman, along with the Chief Minister’s principal secretary K.S. Sreenivasa Raju, endowments principal secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer and senior officials were present at the review meeting.
