Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed officials to be on high alert in view of heavy downpour in the city and also in several parts of the state, as well as predictions of more rainfall. In a media statement on Thursday, Revanth Reddy asked civic authorities to take necessary relief measures and ensure people do not face any hardships.

Revanth Reddy instructed Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari to review the situation from time to time and take appropriate measures to avoid inconvenience to the people in the low-lying areas. The CM ordered the GHMC, police, HYDRAA and other departments to work in coordination to ensure that there is no waterlogging on the roads, traffic jams and power outages. Power department authorities are instructed to resolve power supply problems and restore the services immediately.

Civic officials have been asked to take up necessary relief measures in the flooded colonies in the low-lying areas and the traffic police address vehicular traffic problems in rain hit areas. District collectors, police officers and officers of all departments are also put on high alert in the wake of heavy rains, gusty winds and hail storms reported in several districts.
