Revanth Orders Probe, Alleges ₹1 Lakh Crore Land Scam Under KCR
He pledged that any retrieved public land would be redistributed to the poor.
HYDERABAD: Launching a blistering attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership on the floor of the Legislative Assembly, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced a 30-day inquiry into former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR) farmhouse in Erravalli, alleging that substantial government land had been encroached upon.
Reddy demanded full transparency on the estate's scale, asking whether KCR holds 700 acres at the site and questioning why the former administration concealed that 388 acres of it reportedly belonged to the government. He pledged that any retrieved public land would be redistributed to the poor.
Detailing what he characterized as systemic land accumulation by the Kalvakuntla family, the Chief Minister reeled out specific holdings across Siddipet and other regions:
KCR's family: 67.5 acres
K.T. Rama Rao (KTR): 123 acres
T. Harish Rao: 30 acres
K. Kavitha: 37 acres
J. Santosh Rao: 79 acres
Naveen Rao: 52 acres
Kondal Rao: 48 acres
In total, Reddy claimed the Kalvakuntla family controls 439 acres spanning 31 villages across 24 mandals and 9 districts. He pointed out that land ceiling statutes permit a single family to hold up to 27 acres of wet land or 54 acres of dry land, whereas KCR’s holdings consist almost entirely of prime wet land.
Expanding the scope of his allegations, the Chief Minister named several prominent BRS figures, accusing ministers and legislators of acquiring assigned, Inam, and government parcels in Aziznagar, Janwada, and other key belts, while regularizing ₹50 crore properties for negligible sums.
To address the broader issue, Reddy declared that the state government will set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unearth what he described as a ₹1 lakh crore land racket executed under the guise of the Dharani portal. He promised that a High-Power Officers Committee would issue comprehensive guidelines within a week to resolve public grievances surrounding Section 22A prohibited lands and clear backlogged layout permissions across HMDA, GHMC, and DTCP jurisdictions.
