Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday thanked devotees for observing discipline during the Ganesh festivities and for ensuring that the immersion of lakhs of idols across Hyderabad and Telangana concluded peacefully.

Revanth Reddy also acknowledged the efforts of police, municipal, revenue, electricity, transport and panchayat raj staff, along with members of festival committees, pandal organisers and crane operators, for their role in completing the immersions without untoward incidents.

He said the immersion of idols, including those at Tank Bund in Hyderabad, was carried out smoothly and in an orderly manner, bringing the nine-day celebrations to a close.

Officials estimated that more than 3 lakh idols were immersed within Greater Hyderabad limits alone. Over 550 cranes and thousands of personnel were deployed to manage the processions.
