Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of deliberately reducing the quality of facilities at Gurukul schools as "the Congress wants to ruin the legacy of KCR".
Rama Rao claimed in a statement on his X handle that the number of applicants for the schools had fallen under the Congress regime.
Separately, he took on Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman over the debt incurred by the BJP government. He stated that while 14 PMs in 65 years had incurred a debt of Rs 56 lakh crores, it had increased to Rs 125 lakh crore in the 10 years of BJP rule.
He claimed that Telangana had Rs 70,000 crore debt when the state was formed and a surplus budget when the BRS demitted office.
Responding to Sitharaman stating in the Rajya Sabha that Telangana, a revenue surplus state at the time of its formation, was now debt-ridden. “One cannot link debts,” Rama Rao claimed. “BRS created assets with the loans taken and changed the face of Telangana.”
