Hyderabad: In a macabre incident under Rachakonda police Commissionerate, a retired Army person brutally murdered his wife and disposed of her body, after cutting it into pieces, which he boiled in a pressure cooker. He then threw the parts in a lake in Jillelaguda.

What was originally filed as a missing case was changed into a murder case by the police, who have since taken the husband into custody. Police have deputed teams to retrieve the body.

The deceased, identified as Venkata Madhavi, 35, was allegedly killed by her husband Gurumurthy, who works as an outsource security staff with DRDO, residents of New Venkateswaranagar, they have two children.

A missing complaint was registered on January 18 by Madhavi’s parents after Gurumurthy told them that following a tiff with him, his wife had left the house uninformed two days earlier.

Gurumurthy killed his wife reportedly after slaughtering their pet dog. He dismembered her body and dumped it in Chandan Cheruvu, located in Jillelaguda. He suspected that his wife was having an extramarital affair.

Meanwhile, Meerpet police remained tight-lipped about the investigation, confirming only that the case was under investigation.
