Rehab Centres Must Conduct Structured Counselling for Drug Abusers: Hyderabad Police

Hyderabad: Task Force and Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vaibhav Gaikwad, asked the representatives of rehabilitation centres to conduct structured counselling sessions for drug abusers and focus on a collaborative approach to counselling drug abusers apprehended during enforcement operations.

The H-NEW convened a coordination meeting with various registered rehabilitation centres operating across Hyderabad, as part of an effort to effectively combat drug abuse and provide timely rehabilitation support to affected youth.

Representatives from leading de-addiction and rehabilitation institutions participated in the interaction and assured full cooperation in extending professional counselling and psychological support to the identified drug consumers.

Gaikwad stated that rehabilitation plays a vital role in ensuring drug-free communities. He further called upon the rehabilitation centres to adopt a proactive role in restoring the lives of addicted individuals, especially students and young citizens.

The H-NEW remains committed to working hand-in-hand with health professionals, NGOs, and rehabilitation networks to eradicate the menace of drug addiction and make Hyderabad a drug-free city.
