Rao Hits Out At CM’s Remark

Hyderabad:BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao condemned Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s comments about journalists, in which he reportedly said he felt like "slapping fake journalists" during a public event.

In his social media post, Ramchander Rao questioned the appropriateness of such remarks from an elected leader. “Is this the kind of language a public representative should use? Is it appropriate for someone in the position of Chief Minister to speak to journalists like this,” he asked.

Rao said the statement raised concerns over press freedom and the state’s law and order situation. “When someone at the level of Chief Minister speaks harshly about journalists — who are the fourth pillar of democracy — by saying that he feels like physically assaulting them, it reflects the deteriorating state of law and order,” he said.

He also questioned whether others might be on what he described as “the target list” of Congress leaders, suggesting deeper implications for dissent and press freedom in the state.
