Hyderabad: A special court for ACB cases here has remanded the Ranga Reddy district DMHO Swarnakumari to judicial remand for 14 days in connection with the bribe case booked against her along with Health Inspector M Srinivas and a private driver Madduri Krishnaiah.

The sleuths of Telangana ACB arrested them on Monday. Before producing them in the court, the ACB brought them to its office in Nampally and questioned her.

According to ACB, Srinivas and Madduri Krishnaiah demanded an amount of Rs.2 lakh following instructions from Swarna Kumari and accepted the bribe amount of Rs.1 lakh from the complainant for doing official work as a reward.

The bribe was demanded for returning keys of the seized physiotherapy centre of the complainant, and as an undue advantage for not taking any further action against the centre for operating without a DM&HO licence, and also for issuing a new DM&HO licence for the physiotherapy centre.

The bribe amount of Rs.1 lakh was recovered from the driver, according to ACB officials. The case is under investigation. The details of complainant are withheld for security reasons.
